Patience & Time
There is so much in our business and life that requires us to realize the short-term gain needs to be outweighed by the long-term success and legacy of what we want to accomplish. Too many Realtors (and all business people and entrepreneurs) can get so focused on the short-term success that they totally forget and ignore strategy for the long game. We need to be not so short-sighted. We need to make sure when we play to win, that our win is legacy and not a quick buck in the current year.
What if you modeled your real estate business to have lasting success in for years? Even generations possibly? Building something great takes time and it takes patience. Sacrificing short-term gain for long-term success may sound cliché, but it is a truth that needs to be internalized in each of us. Every strategy, every process, every thing we do needs to be done thinking multiple moves ahead. That’s the real challenge. Can we make decisions in the now that help both the now and the future? I think we can. Sometimes that requires someone else to bounce ideas off of, to be held accountable, to come alongside and help coach.
You are told life is short. On the grand scale of things, that is true. But, when you think about the average life span we have on this earth, there is a good number of years that we have but don’t maximize. We forget that if we really focus and strive hard with the time we have we really have a good amount of years to develop a successful career. We on average have years and years to build on each other when we focus on the long-term. The balance is to be content in the moment, and focused on strategy for the long-term. Patience and time are huge assets that we have to view has assets. Use them to our advantage. If you do this, you can redefine your definition of success.
